La Roux

I have a new favourite sound and it’s called La Roux, courtesy of MySpace, that cyber-wonderful cultivating ground for new talent. Forget Lily Allen and Kate Nash, La Roux is MySpace pedigree that surely deserves a record deal. With influences ranging from Depeche Mode to Blondie to Madonna, La Roux is electro pop for the 21st century. Elly Jackson, the voice of La Roux has a distinctive sound but sounds mature beyond her years. Check out La Roux’s Myspace page, and my personal favourite “Quicksand”.

Funky, melodic electro beats and lyrically rich, I sure hope they release an album soon because I need more than the 3 tracks available on their MySpace!
