Panoramic Holiday Projector

There's surely no more chipper a way to show just how excited you feel about annual events than plastering it all over your house, often much to the disgust of your neighbours. But why should you limit the joviality/annoyance merely to Christmas? Well with the Panoramic Holiday Projector you needn't! For a mere $79.95 you can give them all something to talk about on Christmas, Halloween, birthdays, and indeed any event you feel is deserving of that special touch. The outdoor-use projector works up to 35-feet away and comes with 10 multi-seasonal slides. Go on, lower the tone (and possibly house prices) over at Brookstone, it's a world of innovation.

Camper Kart By Kevin Cyr

Artist, designer and all-round appreciater of the shabbier beauties of this world, Kevin Cyr brings us Camper Kart - "an experiment in autonomy." Investigating "habitats and housing; recycling and ecology; exploration and mobility" such as it is, Camper Kart is quite the artistic project of cultural relevance. Not only is this collapsible camper a unique autonomous mobile abode, the thoughtful Mr. Cyr has included in his design a consideration towards reading material and the alleviation of phobic distress. Much like Murray Siple's Carts of Darkness, Cyr's work explores our relationship with that which we discard within our society of wastefulness, and that faction of life for whom an icon of consumption becomes the emblem of ostracism. And just like Siple's documentary, Camper Kart could well become this year's sleeper hit. Camper Kart, you are so beautiful...to me.

Olga Kurylenko, 29-year-old Ukranian actress, became renowned in the world of cinematography as a result of her Bond-girl role alongside Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace. She will appear in the upcoming French production Kirot, and opposite Dominic West and Michael Fassbender in Centurion, a film by Neil Marshall. In addition, she will shortly begin shooting There be Dragons, directed by Roland Joffe.

The 11th edition of the Campari Calendar conveys elements of pure fascination and sophistication through the most intriguing places, moments and rituals of the city. Both on set and in the images, Campari is the magical ingredient of four frantic and exciting days, dedicated to the creation of Campari Milano.

The behind the scenes photographs reveal the passion, fun and involvement of the protagonists, through the production of the calendar shots which will be unveiled in October.

The images were captured by emerging photographer, Simone Nervi. [Click here to view the full set]

Really very cool promotional video for Neil Krug's Pulp Book. Really nails the sleaxy pulpy exploitation movie type vibe it's going for. Stephane Coedel's "A Kiss From Tokyo" Theatrical trailer for Kevin Dart's book "Seductive Espionage: The World of Yuki 7" did a similar thing. Using the power of online video is an exceedingly good way to promote concept books.

Pulp Book is collaboration between supermodel Joni Harbeck and photographer Neil Krug. The book will feature 200 pulp inspired images.

The music in the commercial is "The Lions and the Cucumber" you can get it by picking up the Vampyros Lesbos (Sexadelic Dance Party) OST or The Jackie Brown OST ... though I say a Sexadelic Dance Party  is the way to go.

years ago, I was walking out a door — I'd been having a conversation and I was walking out the door, and this guy said to me, "Chris," and I stopped and I turned, and he said, "Be careful." And I never forgot that. And it comes back to me often: Be careful. That was good advice.

This Coca-Cola ad was by directed by Dougal Wilson for Mother London Advertising Agency. I'm a Pepsi drinker myself, but I rather like the happy vibe of this Muppet esque TV spot.

I love the images availble on Neil Krug's flickr and the gallery at the books website. Shades of post-apocalyptic futures, crime capers gone bad, primeval past, the wild west and cult auteur Alejandro Jodorowsky.

Andrew Chase Giraffe

I’ve always rather liked the giraffe, and this marvellous 6ft tall, steampunk sculpture by artist Andrew Chase has made me like the long necked funniosity even more. Taking over 80 hours to build this fine fellow owes his body to a cleverly composed concotion of transmission parts, electrical conduit, plumbing pipe and a whole series of gears and levers that grant the giant giraffe the jointal movements of his not so metallic counterpart. Andrew Chase has then produced some mighty fine steampunk art featuring his gear-giraffe.

To see some other examples of creatures both real and imagined that have been steampunked by the talented Mr Chase, check out his website www.andrewchase.com

Claire Merry

Claire Merry who modeled under the name Nicole Merry arrives at the UK Premiere of Star Trek.

Claire is Ex wife of French football player Thierry "Va-va-voom" Henry whom she took to the cleaners for a sum reputed to be just south of £10 million pounds in a divorce settlement. (I admit I looked that up, my knowledge of minor UK "celebrities" and wags is minimal to say the least. I do remember thinking the girl in the Renault Clio advertisements was rather attractive and Claire was that girl.

Anyway while it was most probably a profile raising stunt (instead of actually doing anything that requires talent, as is the way these days), I'd like to think she was wearing it as a tongue in cheek homage to the the show / genre. Anyway it's nice to see someone embracing the women-in-silver-cat-suits future, sci-fi shows promised me as a kid.
