Relative newcomers BAAS Architects, formed in 1994 by Jordi Badia, work to develop architectural, urban planning and interior design projects for both the private and public sectors. The work seen here by this Spain-based studio is the Leon City Morgue, an award-winning project spearheaded by Badia himself alongside Josep Val.
Taking the morbid out of the morgue, Badia has worked with both an eye to the environment and also respect for the nearby residential area by incorporating an expansive lawn and lake. This coupled with the tranquil ambience and respectful privacy of the interior make this a place ideal for the promotion of contemplation.
