"I just wanted to make a piece of work that would cheer people up a bit. I've had enough of the doom and gloom in the air and I wanted to show something completely positive floating up to the sky."
Such is the admirable ethic of artist Stuart Semple, whose self-imposed remit brought forth the work that is HappyCloud. The result? Like being imprisoned in the mind of a child whose Sunny Delight peak has turned to a trough. Maybe it's just the depressing British sky, but they look a little more like "I laugh in the face of your grim misfortune" than "hey, have a nice day." Nevermind, it's the thought that counts.
